A study in ephemeral form and unfulfilled function, this piece draws on the tradition of the still life while subverting its sense of control. Compelled by a minor culinary success of no real consequence, Alex explored the concept of food through the medium of cook book, with challenging results.

As must all who carry the mantle of leadership, who are beckoned and answer its call, Alex wrote a mémoire. Gifted with preternatural leadership abilities from a young age, it is often remarked he must have lead in his blood, and surely it translates to elegant prose.

Here, Alex invites the viewer to imagine how an algorithmic manifestation of Werner Herzog might describe a series of abstract doodles. To this end, the work asks more questions than it answers, and strives to highlight the tension between intent and perception.

Documenting the overlooked beauty of map tiles stored in object buckets, this project reimagines infrastructure as artifact. Cloud-hosted and pathologically specific, it transports the viewer to where they currently are. This is not a map. It is the shadow of a map, cached.
